Tamil Nadu District Development Councils (Repeal) Act, 1997*

An Act to repeal the Tamil Nadu District Development Councils Act, 1958

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the forty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

* Received the assent of the Governor on the 9th May, 1997 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary.

Section 1. Short title, extent and commencement

1. Short title, extent and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu District Development Councils (Repeal) Act, 1997.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Section 2. Repeal of Tamil Nadu Act XVIII of 1958

2. Repeal of Tamil Nadu Act XVIII of 1958.- The Tamil Nadu District Development Council Act, 1958 (Tamil Nadu Act XVIII of 1958) is hereby repealed.
