An Act further to amend the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act, 1983

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Fifty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

* Received the assent of the Governor on the 22nd November, 2008 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, No. 354, dated November 24, 2008.

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies (Fourth Amendment) Act, 2008.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

Section 2. Amendment of section 89

2. Amendment of section 89.- In section 89 of the Tamil Nadu Co-operative Societies Act, 1983 (Tamil Nadu Act 30 of 1983), in the proviso to sub-section (1), for the expression "seven years and six months", the expression "eight years" shall be substituted.
