An Act to amend the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002
Whereas it is expedient to amend the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002, for the purposes hereinafter appearing;
Be it enacted in the Fifty-sixth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.- This Act may be called the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2005.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
Section 2. Amendment of section 9
2. Amendment of section 9.- In the Kerala Ground Water (Control and Regulation) Act, 2002 (19 of 2002), for sub-section (1) of section 9, the following sub-section shall be substituted namely:-
"(1) Every user of ground water in the State shall, within such time as may be notified by the Government in this behalf, apply to the Authority for registration as a user of ground water and for the grant of a certificate of registration.".
