An Act further to amend the Intermediate Education Act, 1921
It is hereby enacted in the Thirty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Intermediate Education (Amendment) Act, 1984.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on May 23, 1983.

Section 3. Amendment of Section 16-D
3. Amendment of Section 16-D.-In Section 16-D of the principal Act, in sub-section (8), in Explanation II, in the Hindi version thereof, for the words and figure " (6)" shall be substituted.
Section 4. Validation
4. Validation.-Notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Act, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the principal Act as they stood immediately before the commencement of this Act, shall be and be deemed always to have been valid as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
Section 5. Repeal and savings
5. Repeal and savings.-(1) The Intermediate Education (Amendment) (Second) Ordinance, 1983 (U.P. Ordinance 42 of 1983), is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the principal Act as amended by the Ordinance, referred to in sub-section (1), shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the principal Act as amended by this Act, as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
