Gujarat Panchayats (Amendment) Act, 1989*

An Act further to amend the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1961.

It is hereby enacted in the Fortieth, Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Gujarat Panchayats (Amendment) Act, 1989.

(2) It shall come into form on suck date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

Section 2. Amendment of section 169 of Guj. VI of 1962

2. Amendment of section 169 of Guj. VI of 1962.- In the Gujarat Panchyats Act, 1961 (Guj. VI of 1962), in section 169, in sub-section (3), in clause (a), in the proviso, for the words "two hundred paise", the words "three hundred paise" shall be substituted.
