Preamble

1Code of Criminal Procedure (Haryana Amendment) Act, 1981*

An Act to amend the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, in its application to the State of Haryana.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Thirty-second Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Code of Criminal Procedure (Haryana Amendment) Act, 1981.

Section 2. Insertion of section 167-A in Central Act 2 of 1974

2. Insertion of section 167-A in Central Act 2 of 1974.- After section 167 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, 1973, the following section shall be inserted, namely:-

"167-A. Procedure on arrest by Magistrate-For the avoidance of doubt, it is hereby declared that the provisions of section 167 shall, so far as may be, apply also in relation to any person arrested by, or under any order or direction of, a magistrate, whether executive or judicial.".
