Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration (Amendment) Act, 1986*

An Act to amend the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 1968.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Audhra Pradesh in Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title
1. Short title.- The Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration (Amendment) Act, 1986.
Section 2. Amendment of Section 3
2. Amendment of Section 3.- In the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Amendment Registration Act, 1968 (Act 23 of 1968) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), in section 3 in sub-section (2),-
(i) for clause (a), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-
"(a) two members to be elected in the prescribed manner by the members of the executive council of the University of Health Sciences in the State from amongst the persons holding any degree in modern medicine;";
(ii) for clause (d), the following clause shall be substituted, namely:-
"(d) the Director of Medical Education, the Director of Health and Family Welfare and any other officer performing any of the functions of either of the said Directors to be nominated by the Government, ex-officio."
Section 3. Amendment of Section 5
3. Amendment of Section 5.- In section 5 of the Principal Act, in sub-section Amendment (1), in the proviso for the words "the Director of Medical and Health Services. Andhra Pradesh", and the expression "one of the ex-officio members referred to in clause (d) of sub-section (2) of section 3 nominated by the Government" shall be substituted.
