Andhra Pradesh Grampanchayat Laws (Amendment) Act, 1988*

An Act further to amend the Andhra Pradesh Gram Panchayats Act, 1964 and to repeal the Andhra Pradesh Gran Panchayats (Second Amendment) Act, 1987.

Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Thirty-eight Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Gram Panchayat Laws (Amendment) Act, 193N.

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 26th September, 1987.

Section 2. Amendment of section 3

2. Amendment of section 3.- In the Andhra Pradesh Gram Panchayats Act, 1964, (Act 2 of 1964) in section 3, in sub-section (1),-

(a) for the words "revenue taluk" and "taluk", wherever they occur, the words "revenue mandal" and "mandal" shall respectively be substituted;

(b) for the expression "the Hyderabad Municipal Corporations Act, 1955", the words, "the relevant law relating to Municipal Corporations for the time being in force in the State" shall be substituted.

Section 3. Repeal of Act 40 of 1987 and Ordinance 1 of 1987

3. Repeal of Act 40 of 1987 and Ordinance 1 of 1987.- The Andhra Pradesh Gram Panchayats (Second Amendment) Act, 1987 and the Andhra Pradesh Gram Panchayat Laws (Amendment) Ordinance, 1987 are hereby repealed.
