Constitution (75th Amendment) Act, 19931
An Act further to amend the Constitution of India
Be it enacted by Parliament in the Forty-fourth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title and commencement
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Constitution (Seventy-fifth Amendment) Act, 1993.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Central Government may by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
Date of enforcement.-Came into force on May 15, 1994 vide S.O. 372(E), dated 13-5-1994.
Section 2. Amendment of Article 323-B
2. Amendment of Article 323-B.-In Article 323-B of the Constitution, in clause (2),-
(a) sub-clauses (h) and (i) shall be relettered as sub-clauses (i) and (j), and before sub-clause (i), as so relettered, the following sub-clause shall be inserted, namely:-
"(h) rent, its regulation and control and tenancy issues including the right, title and interest of landlords and tenants;";
(b) in sub-clause (i), as so relettered, for the brackets and letter "(g)", the brackets and letter "(h)" shall be substituted;
(c) in sub-clause (j), as so relettered, for the brackets and letter "(h)", the brackets and letter "(i)" shall be substituted.
