An Act to amend the Goa Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting Act, 1997 (Goa Act. No. 5 of 1999).
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Goa in the Fifty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Goa Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting (amendment) Act, 2000.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 17.- In section 17 of the Goa Prohibition of Smoking and Spitting Act, 1997 (Goa Act No. 5 of 1999), in sub-section (1), for the expression "rupees one thousand which may extend upto rupees five thousand", the expression "rupees one hundred which may extend upto rupees five hundred" shall be substituted.
