MURRAY v. STATE, S12O0178 (Ga. 11-7-2011)

The following order was passed:

A pro se document entitled "Petition for Writ of Habeas Corpus General Demurrer" was submitted for filing in this Court by criminal defendant Debra Murray, appearing to challenge the revocation of her probation following her guilty plea to simple assault stemming from an episode of family violence. In an abundance of caution, the Clerk of this Court permitted the document initially to be filed as an original petition. However, examination of the document makes plain that it was intended for consideration by the Superior Court of Lumpkin County, not this Court. Indeed, nowhere in the document does Murray invoke the jurisdiction of this Court, nor is there any request for relief from this Court. Accordingly, the Clerk is hereby directed to strike the filing from the docket of this Court.
