HURLEY-SMITH v. SMITH, No. FA08 402 60 27 (May 1, 2009)

Connecticut Superior Court Judicial District of Fairfield at Bridgeport
May 1, 2009
MEMORANDUM OF DECISION

OWENS, J.T.R.

The parties intermarried at Stratford, Connecticut on August 4, 2002. The plaintiff's birth name was Sherri Paquette. There are no children issue of the marriage. Both parties are pro-se.

The husband is 49 and the wife is 34. The husband has received and will be receiving an annuity as a result of an accident. He shall receive an additional $150,000 after September 1, 2010. He is presently unable to work. Wife receives $81.00 per day as a foster mother and contemplates going back to work as a bus driver. There are allegations that the husband has an alcohol dependency but when we consider the short duration of each parties' second marriage and the present shortage of assets, fault does not play a significant part. The Court has carefully considered the statutory criteria in entering its orders.

2. Wife shall be the sole owner of her real estate located at 1076 South Avenue in Stratford.
