Dinesh Kumar & Ors. v. State (Pil) & Ors.

Rajasthan High Court
Jan 8, 2015

On behalf of the respondents, a report, as desired under the order dated 03.12.2014, is submitted. It is averred that in pursuance to the order dated 03.12.2014, a committee of 5 members including the Collector, Hanumangarh, the Superintendent of Police, Hanumangarh, the Commissioner, Municipal Council, Hanumangarh, the Chief Medical and Health Officer, Hanumangarh and one competent engineer of the Public Works Department has been constituted. It is also stated that the first meeting of the committee was conducted on 05.01.2015 under the Chairmanship of the District Collector, Hanumangarh.

It is really strange that the committee met only 3 days earlier to the date on which it was supposed to submit its report to this court. The facts averred in the report speak volumes about apathy of the respondents in removing the encroachments. The conduct of the respondents indicates that they are not at all interested in removing the encroachments in the area concerned.

Having considered the contents of the report, the Collector, Hanumangarh and the Commissioner, Municipal Council, Hanumangarh are directed to remain personally present before the court tomorrow.

Put up tomorrow.
