Cal. Elec. Code § 14431 : CALIFORNIA ELECTIONS CODE — ELECTION DAY PROCEDURES — CLOSING OF THE POLLS — RETURN OF SUPPLIES TO THE CLERK — Enclosure and sealing of ballots in packages
The precinct board shall enclose and seal in one or more packages, as determined by the elections official, all voted, spoiled, canceled, or unused ballots.
