AN ACT TO CHANGE THE ACRONYMS OF THE
TELANGANA LAWS AND FOR MATTERS
CONNECTED THEREWITH OR INCIDENTAL
THERETO.
1. (1) This Act may be called the Telangana Laws Short title and (Change of Acronyms) Act, 2024. application.
(2) It shall apply to all the laws made, adapted, enacted by the State Legislature and in force in the State of Telangana.
2. In this Act, unless the context otherwise requires,- Definitions.
(a) 'Acronym' means a word formed from the initial letters of a phrase;
(b) 'Government' means the Government of Telangana;
(c) "Law" means and includes any enactment, ordinance, regulation, order, bye-law, rule, scheme, notification or other instrument, etc., made, adapted, enacted by the State Legislature and in force in the State of Telangana;
(d) "notification" means, a notification published in the Telangana Gazette and the expression 'notified' shall be construed accordingly.

(e) "TG" means Telangana;
(f) "TS" means Telangana State;
(g) Any other word or expression used or referred to in any other law for the time being in force. Change of 3. In all the Laws in force in the State of Telangana,- Acronyms.
(1)For the acronym "TS" wherever they occur, the acronym "TG" shall be substituted.
(2) Any reference relating to the acronym in any Law including enactment, ordinance, regulation, order, bye-law, rule, scheme, notification or other instrument, etc., made thereunder both statutory and non-statutory, for the acronym
"TS", read the acronym 'TG' respectively.
(3) For the words "Telangana State" wherever they occur, while referring to the Laws, the word "Telangana"
shall be substituted therefor.
Schedule. 4. The short title of every Act specified in Column (3) of the Schedule and its citation by the number and year as indicated therein shall be amended as specified in the corresponding entry in column (4) thereof and all references to any such law in any other law shall stand modified accordingly;
Power of 5. (1) The Government may, from time to time, by Government to notification in the Official Gazette, amend the Schedule. amend Schedule.
(2) Any amendment made under sub-section (1) shall have effect as if enacted in this Act and shall come into force on the date of the notification, unless the notification otherwise directs.

6. If any difficulty arises in giving effect to the provisions of Power to remove this Act, the Government may, by general or special order, difficulties. published in the Telangana Gazette, make such provisions not inconsistent with the provisions of this Act, as appear to them to be necessary or expedient for the removal of the difficulty.
7. Every notification or order made under sections 5 and 6 Laying. of this Act, shall, as soon as possible after it is issued, be laid before the Legislature of the State.
8. For the purpose of this Act, the Telangana General Applicability of Clauses Act, 1891 shall apply. the Telangana
General Clauses Act, 1891.
