An Act to extend the Malabar ~o&pensation for Tenants Improvements Act, 1899, with certain modifications to the Gudalur taluk of the Nilgiri district.
Preamble. WEEREAS it is expedient to extend the provisions of the Malabar Compensation for Tenants Improvements mmi I Act, 1899, with Fartlrin modificat~ons, to the Gudalur z;;;kf hhdc of the Nilgiri drstrict ; 1900.
AND WAWBAS the previous sanction of the Governor- General has been obtained to the passing of this Act ; It is hzreby enacted as follows :-
Short title
and extent.
1. (1) This Act may be cdled the Gudalur Compen- sation for Tenants Improvements Act, 193 1.
(2) It extends to the whole of the Gudalur ta'luk of the Nilgiri district.

il 2. Sections 3 to 20 of the Malabar Compensation Bttsnefon of

referred to as tbe said Act), shall apply l o the I of
Gudalur taluk of the Nilgiri district subject to the 1900 to tho . following modifications, namely;--
(4) in section 19 of the said Act, for the words and figures 'after the first day of January 1886'' the words 'after the corning into force of this Act' shall be substituted and a[before the proviso, the foUowing paragraph shall be inserted, namely :-
(5) in section 20 of the said Act, after the words 'construed as' the words 'entitling any person to claim compensation under the provisions of this Act
for any improvements made before the coming Into force of this Act or as' shall be inserted.
