NOTIFICATION
No. 240-L.-13th March, 2023.—The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:—

THE BENGAL DISTRICTS (REPEALING) ACT, 2022.
[Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 13th March, 2023.]
Short title and
commencement.
An Act to repeal the Bengal Districts Act, 1864. WHEREAS it is expedient to repeal the Bengal Districts Act, 1864; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-third Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Bengal Districts (Repealing) Act, 2022.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.

Act IV of 1864.
2. The Bengal Districts Act, 1864 is hereby repealed. Saving.
3. Notwithstanding such repeal as mentioned in section 2, anything done or any action taken under the Bengal Districts Act, 1864, shall be deemed to have been validly done or taken.
