Jammu and Kashmir act 012 of 1945 : The JAMMU AND KASHMIR GOVERNMENT GAZETTE, ACT 1945 (1888 A. D.)

Section 1.Title.

This Gazette shall be called the ¹[Jammu and Kashmir ²[Official Gazette].

Section 2.Day of publication.

It shall be ¹[published every week on Monday unless ²[the Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] fix any other day in this behalf.

1. The day of issue of Gazette is Thursday now by Finance Department Notification No. 21, dated 4th July, 1927 published in Government Gazette dated 10th Sawan, 1984.

Section 3.What it will contain.

There shall be published in the Gazette all Aims and Orders relating thereto duly passed by ¹[the Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir], all Departmental Orders, Notifications and Circulars, appointments of Gazetted Officers and their transfers, leaves, dismissal and suspension.

Section 4. Parts of the Gazette.

Section 5.Responsibility of Officer-in-charge of Press.

The Officer-in-Charge of the Press, shall be responsible for the proper and timely publication of the matters pertaining to each department and for the ¹[correct reproduction] of every order printed therein.

Section 6. Charges for publication of Civil Court notices.

¹[The notices issued by the Civil Courts in pursuance of the provisions of the law in force may be published subject to the payment of the charges at the rate of ²[twelve naya paise per line per insertion or at such rate as may be determined by the ³[Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] from time to time]. The charges shall be realised by the Civil Courts from the person at whose request a notice is issued and amount realised shall be remitted to the Superintendent Press.

Section 7.Private publications.

¹[Any member of the public may, on an application to the Officer-in-Charge of Press, get his advertisements published on payment of the charges at the rate of ²[twelve naya paisa per line per insertion or at such rate as may be determined from time to time].

Section 8.Officers to whom Gazette shall be supplied free.

¹[Copies of the Government Gazette shall be supplied free of charge to such officers and departments as the Government may direct].

Section 9.Annual subscription.

¹[Any person may subscribe to the ²[Official Gazette] on payment of subscription charges at a rate to be determined by the Government from time to time].

Section 10.Publication of Government orders.

All orders on the annual reports of Departments of the ³[Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] passed by ¹[the Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir], shall be published in the ²[Official Gazette], if their publication is sanctioned by ¹[the Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir].

Section 11. Presumption Proof.

Every entry in the Gazette shall be presumed to have been made under the orders of a competent authority. An order published in the Gazette may be proved to have been issued by the production of a copy of the Gazette in which it may be found printed.

Section 12.Government to frame rules.

The ¹[Government of the Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir] shall frame proper rules for the regular publication of the Gazette.
