Preamble

ACT

to provide for the establishment of an administrative authority iil the neme and style of the Mom Autonomous Council and

for matters incidental thereto and connected therewith. Wheteas it is expedient to provide for the establishment of a M o m Autonomous Council within the State of Assam within the framework of the Constitution of India, comprising of Moran community dominated villages of Assam for social.

economic, educational, ethnic and cultural &UivanCUn~t of the M o m community miding therein;

It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-first Year of the Republic of India, as follows :-

CRAPTER - I

PRELIMINARY

Short title, 1. (1) This Act may be called the M o m Autonomous

"Constituency" means the constituency r e f d to in section 30;

"Council Area" means the M o m Autonomous Council Area ;

"Executive Council" means the executive body of

the Oenna Couucil of the Moran Autonomous Council Constituted under section 5 (3);

"Ekctor" in relation to a constituency means a

person whose name is entered in the electoral roll of that consiituency ;

"General Council Fund" means the fund constituted under section 43 ;

"Government" means the State Government of -

"Governor" means the Governor of Assam ;
