Whereas the Governor-General in Council has declared that it is expedient that the Governor-General should visit the Neilgherry Hills in the Presidency of Fort St. George, and other parts of India, unaccompanied by any Member of the Council of India; It is enacted as follows:
During the absence of the Governor-General from the Council of India, it shall be lawful for the Governor-General alone to exercise all the powers which night be exercised by the Governor-General in Council in every case in which the said Governor-General may think it expedient to exercise those powers.
This Act shall commence from the day on which it shall be notice by an order published in the Official Gazette, that the Governor-General has quitted Calcutta for the purpose of so proceeding as aforesaid, and shall not continue in force for a longer period than one year.
