An Act to amend the definition of Coins contained in the Indian Penal Code.

PREAMBLE

Preamble. Whereas it is expedient to amend the definition of coin contained in the Indian Penal Code, section two hundred and thirty; It is hereby enacted as follows:

Section 1. Amendment of Section 230, Act XLV of 1860

For the first paragraph of the said section, the following shall he substituted:

230. Coin defined. Coin is metal used for the time being as money and stamped and issued by the authority of some State or Sovereign Power in order to be so used.
