• HEREAS it ig expedient to remove doubts and to validate the proceedings in certain oourts of Subordinate Judges and MunsifB in the merged territories of the Stati60f Oris»a ; It is hereby enactedas follows :—
I. (1) This Aot may be called the Orissa ( Subordinate Judges and Mungifs Proceedingsin MergedTerritories) Validation Aob, 1951.
(2' It shall comeinto forceat once.
2. Notwithstanding anything to the contrary contained in anynotificationissuedundersection 19 of the Bengal,Agro andAssamCivilCourtsAct,1887,thepowersexercisedbythe ofi ngs of Subordinate personsin the localareasspecifiedin column1Ofthe Schedule Judgesand heretoannexed,whetherasMunsif8 or SubordinatoJudgen in
Muusifsin the mergedterritories of the State of Orissa, during the period
merged
mentioned against each in column 2, and in respect of matters erritoriøg,
mentioned in column 3 thereof, Oltor the date of such notifi- cation shall be deemed to have been validly exeroised under the provisionsof the saidAct andno proceedingsin the courts of sucbpersonsduringthesaidperiod shallbeheldto beill%al shall bequestionedin any court of law.
