It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-seventh
year of the Republic of India as follows :-
1. {l) This Act may be called the Assam Excise (Amendment) Act, 1976. r_2 ) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.

(2) prohibit into the areas to which this Act applies the entry of News papers, Journals, Periodicals etc. , if they contain advertisement of liquor or intoxicating preparations."
