ASSAM ACT III OF 1932
TH E ASSAM COURT-FEES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1932*

An Act to amend the Court-fees Act, 1870
W hereas it is necessary to amend the Court-fees Act VII of Act, 1870, in its application to Assam in the manner 1870. hereinafter appearing ;
Short title, *s hereby enacted as follows ;— extent an I commence- I. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Court- ment. fc c s (Amendment) Act, 1932.
(2) It extends to the whole of Assam.
(3) It shall come into force on the 1st May, 1932.
Amendment 2. In section 7 of tlie Court-fees Act, 1870 (herein- ' Y ^ 11 o f of section J. alter referred to a : the . rinciy il Act) —
in sub-clause (<r) of clati <• V for the word “ ten” the word “ twenty” shall be substituted.
Amendment 3. Foi clause (»H of section 10 of the principal of section lO.Act, the following clause shall be substituted
namely:—
“ ii. In such ca c—
(«) the suit shall be stayed until the additional fee is paid and if die additional fee is not paid withit such time as the Court shall F-. the suit shall be dismissed; and whether the addition .1 fee is or is not paid,
(b) the court may. if it is of opinion that the estimation has been grossly insufficient, further order that the expenses of the com mission, or such portion thereof as the court may think reasonable, be paid by the party in fault to the Government, and the order so made shall have the force and effect of a decree passed by the court.”
