Pre .mble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Amusements and Betting Tax (Second Amendment) 196?. 0 Act, 1969 hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing:
It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-second year of the Republic of I as follows:—•
Short title, 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Amuse- extent and m e n ts and Betting Tax (Amendment) Act, 1971.

(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force at once.
Amendment 2. At the end of Section 1(1) of the principal Act, e f Section 1 the figure “ 1939” appearing therein shall be substi- Aŝ sam Act tuted by the figure “ 1969” . X IX of 1969.
