THE ASSAM SPEAKER'S SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1959

An Act
to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958
Preamble.-WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Assam Speaker's Salaries and >\llowances Act, 1958 (Assam Act XXV of 1958), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing ;
It is hereby enacted in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Assam Speaker's Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1959.
(2) It Rhall come into force at once.
2. Insertion of a new section after section 7 of Assam Act XXV of 195u.-After Section 7 of the principal Act, the following new section shall be inser.ted as section 8 and the existing sections 8 and 9 shall be re numbered as sections 9 and 10 respectively, namely: -
"8. Medical attendance and treatment.-Subject to any rules made in this behalf by the State Government, the Speaker shall be entitled free of charge to accommodation iu hospitals maintained by the Government and ::tlso to medical treatment".
