THE KERALA STATE LEGISLATURE (CONTINUANCE • OF THE USE qF ENGLISH LANGUAGE) ACT, 1965

Enacted by the President in the Fifteenth Year of the Republic of India.
An Act to provitk for the continued use of English language for transaction of bustness in the Legislature of the State of Kerala.
In exercise of the po:wers conferred by section 3 of the Kerala State Legislature (Delegation ofPowers) Act, 1964 (30 of 1964), the President is pleased to enact as follows :-
1. Short title and commencement.-(1) This Act may be called the Kerala State Legislature (Continuance of the Use of English Language) Act, 1965. · · · ·
(2) It shall come into force on the 26th day of January, 1965.
2. Continuance oj English language for the transactwn of buszness in the ugislature of the State.-Notwithstanding the expiration of the period of fifteen years from the commencement of the Constitution, the English language may, as from the 26th day of January, 1965, continue to be used, in addition to the other languages referred to in clause ( 1) of article 21 0 thereof, for the transaction of business in the Legislature of the State of Kera1a.
