Preamble
Short title,

Amendment of
Schedule-I
Whereasit is expedient further to amendthe
Indian StampAct, 1899, hereinafter referred
to as the principalAct, in its application to
the State of
Assam, in the mannerhereinafter appearing;
It is hereby enactedin the Sixty-fourth Year of the Republicof India as follows:-

1. (1) This'Act may be calledthe I!Idian Stamp (AssamAmendm~nt) Act,2013.
(2) It extends to thewholeof Assam.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. In the
principal.Act, in Schedule-I, for item No.23,'the following shallbe SUbstituted, namely:-
"23. Conveyance [asdefinedby section2(1O)lnotbeinga Transfer, charged or exempted
undet:No:62. Central Act II of 1899. ' Two percent of the market value ofthe property for such conveyance made
in favour of women solely or
jolntly with others and three percent for others."
