AN
ACT
further to amend the Manip ur Secondary Education Act
, 1972
(Manipur Act 7 of 1972). BE it enacted .by the Legislative A ssembly of Manipur in the Twenty—ninth Year 01": the Repu blic of India as follows:

1. (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Secondary Education 6mm and
(Second Amendment) Act, 1979. '

(2) It extends to the Whole o f Manipur.
(3) It shall come into force On such date as the State Governm ent
may by notification in the Officia l Gazette appoint.
2. In this Act "Principal A c " means the Manipur Se condary
Education Act, 1972 (Manipur Act 7 of 1972).

"5. {1) The Boardshah consist of a full time Chairman; aippcir-ted

(i) The Director of Education of the Sta te (in-charge of Secondary
Education).
(ii) The Director of Industries, Manipur.
(iii) The Director of Agrkmhure, Manipur.
(iv) The Director of Medical, Health and Welfar e Services,
Manipur.
(V) The Deans of the Faculties of Arts and Science, Gauhazi
U niversity. V
(Vi) Principal, Government PoTytechnic, Im pha}.
(wi) Principal, P.G.T. College.
(vii) Secretary Manipur State Kala Acadarry.
(h) The other members who shall be nomi nated by the
Government In the manner herein prov ided, namely:
(i) 'lwo Headmasters/Headmisrresses of High SehooI-s.
(ii) Two Principals of Higher Secondary Schools.
(iii) One Principal 'of a College.
(iv) One nominee of the University to which th e Colieges'
in the State are affiliated.
(v) Four nominees 0f the State Governme nt from among
Educationists. '
(vi) Two teachers of' High or Higher Secon dary Schoots.
(vii) One representative of Manipur Sahity a Parishad.
(c) Notwithstanding anything contained in this- Section the
' Board may Co-opt no: more than three me mbers from amongst
distinguished educationfists.
(2) The Secretary shall- be appointed by the SI' ate Government
who shall also be exvoi'ficio member of the Board."

"(1) The following shatl be the Officers of the Board,
who shall be appointed by the State Gov ernment:
(1') The Chairman.
(ii) The Secretary.
(iii) The Controller of Examinations.
(iv) The Officers.
(2) The terms and conditions of services, qual ifications and mode
of recruitment of the Chairman, Secretary, Contro ller of Examinations
and other Officers shall be prescribed by the State Government
by Rules."
