to amend the Assam Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Act, 1971.
Pr eamble. Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Asnm Act Public Premises (Ev.ction of Unauthorised XJ76~ Occupants) Act, 1971, hereinafter called the pr,ncipal Act, in the manner hereinafter
appearing ;
It is hereby enacted in the Twenty-eighth
year of the Republic of India as follows :-
Short title, l. (1) This Act may be called the Assam extent and Public Premises (Eviction of Unauthorised commence- Occupants) (Amendm ent) Act, 1977. m ent.
(2) It shall have like exten t as the principal Act.
(3) It sh all come into force on the first of the date or dates on which either the whole or any part of the principal Act comes into force. Insertion of 2. No Civil Court shall have jurisdiction to entertain any suit or proceeding in respect of eviction of any person who is in unauthorised occupation of any public premises or the reco- very of the arrears of rent payable under sub- section (1) of Section 7 or the damages payable under sub-section (2) of that Section or costs awarded to the Government of Assam under sub- section (5) of Section 9 or any portion of such rent, damages or costs". - -· - ... .. - U.
