to amend, the Assam Deputy Speaker's Salaries and Allowances Act, 1958
P ream ble.— Whereas it is expedient to amend the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances Act. 1958, (Assam Act XVI of 1958) hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing ;
I t is hereby enacted in the Tenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title and com m encem ent.—(1) This Act may be called the Assam Deputy Speaker’s Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 1959.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Insertion o f a n ew section after Section 7 o f A ssam Act XVI o f 1958.—After section 7 of the principal Act, the following new section shall be inserted as section 8 and the existing sections 8 and 9 shall be re-number ed as sections 9 and 10 respectively, namely;—
“ 8. M edical attendance and treatm ent.—Subject to any rules made in this behalf by the State Government, the Deputy Speaker shall be entitled free of charge to accommodation in hospitals maintained by the Govern ment and also to medical treatment” .
