An Act farther to amend the Ass am Panchayat Act$ 1959 Preamble Whereas it is exp edient fur the r to amend theAct Assam Pan cha yat Act, 1959 here inafter called theoi principal Act , in the manne r hereinafter appea ring ; It is hereb y enacted in the Fift een th Year of the Republic of Ind ia as follows :—

(2) It shall have the like extent as the prin cipal Act.
(3) It shall come into force at once. Amendment 2. j n sub-section (5) of Section 14 of th e principa l ofAssam Ac .Act—-for clause (ii), the following shall be subst itu- XXIV of ted, nam ely

4. In sub-section (1) of Section 19 of the princi - pal Act,-—(1) in the second proviso afte r the word "co-op ted " punctuat ion " (, )" shall be delet ed ;
(2) aft er punc tua tion " ( , )" as so deleted , the words and punctua tion "or nom ina ted ," shall be inserted between the words "co-opted" and " the" . Amendment 5. j n s u b.s e c tion (1) of Section 22 of the prin- tion 22 of cipa l Act, for the second proviso, the following Assam Act shall be substituted, namely:-—
