THE GUWAHATI MUNICIPAL CORPORATION

(FIRST AMENDMENT) ACT, 1991.

further to amend the Guwahati Municipal rAss ;^m1Q̂¹Corporation Act, 1969. 9 3

' Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Guwahati Municipal Corpora- tion Act, 1969, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act;

It is hereby enacted in the Forty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows:— extent and (*). This Act may be called the commence- Guwahati Municipal Corporation (First menu Amendment) Act, 1994.

(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.

(3) It shall come into force at once. of^mIectCⁿ5.²

Principal Act, in section 5, in sub-section (1) (a), in clause (i), for the existing provisions, the follow- ing shall be substituted, namely : —

"(l)(^a

)(i) There shall be one Coun- cillor for every population of 7500 subject to a maximum of 60

(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding pro- visions of this Act as if this Act had commenced on the 26th day of July, 1994-
