Preamble.-WHEREAS tt ts expedtent further to contmue the Kerala Essential Arttcles Control (Temporary Powers) Act, 1961, for a further period,
BE 1t enacted in the Twenty-seventh Year of the Repubhc of India as followc:: -
1 Short title.-This Act may be called Essenttal Articles Control (Temporary Powers) Act, 1976.

2 Amendment of section 1.-In sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Kerala Essential Arhcles Control (Temporary Powers) Act, 1961 (3 of 1962) (heremafter referred to as the prmcipal Act), for the words "fourteen years", the words "seventeen years" shall be substituted

3. Repeal and saving.-(1) The Kerala Essential Articles Control (Temporary Powers) Contmuance Ordmance, 1976 (l of 1976) IS hereby repealed.
(2) Notvv~thstanding such repeal, anythmg done or any ~ actiOn taken under the prmc1pal Act as amended by the said Ordmance shall be deemed to have been done or taken undel· the prmclpdl Act as amended by th1s Act as 1f th1s Act had come 1nto f01 ce on the 15th day of January, 1976 --
