An Act
to extend the provisions of the Agriculturists’ Loans Act, 1884, to certain areas of the United Khasi-Jaintia Hills District.
Preamble. WHERE AS the Agriculturi sts’ Loans Act, 1884, is Central Act not in force in the areas known as the Khas i States immediately before the commencement of the Cons ti tution of India, which now form part of the United Khasi-Ja intia Hills Distr ict, hereinafter called the “said areas” ;
AND WHERE AS it is expedient to bring the said Act into force in the said areas :
It is hereby enacted in the Four teen th Yea r of the Republic of India as follows :—
Short title, l. (l ) This Act may be called the Agricu lturis ts’ extent and Loans (Extension to United Khasi-Ja intia Hills Dis- me“ “ e n c e ‘ ^ t ) A c t - 1963.
(2) It extends to the said areas.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
Applic atio n of th e Agri culturis ts’ Loans Act, 1884.
2. All the provisions of the Agricu lturis ts’ Lo-ans Act, 1884, as amended from time to time, shall apply to the said areas.
