JURISDICTION VALIDATION ACT, 19701

AN ACT TO VALIDATE CERTAIN ACTIONS TAKEN BY THE DIRECTOR OF MUNICIPAL ADMINZSTRATION
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Orissa in the Twenty-first Year of the Republic of India, as follow:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Director of 2~: ::: Municipal Administration (Orissa) Exercise of Juris- a m e n * diction Val~dation Act, 1970. mat.
(2) It shall extend lo the whole of the State of Onssa.
(3) It shall come into force at once
2. Notwithstanding anything contained in the Validation OiSs Orissa Municipal Act, 1950 no action taken or order of 1950. passed by the Director of Municipal Administration within the period from the 1st day of August 1968 to the 12th day of March 1969 in thebelief or purported belief that the said Director while taking such action or making such order was app?inted to act as such Director by an appropriate notdificabon lssued under the said Act, shall be questioned in any court of law or otherwise open to challenge merely on the ground that he was not appointed by a notification as aforesaid and all such actions and orders shdl be deemed to have been validly taken or passed in exercise of the powers confe- rred by or under that Act.
