Preamble Whereas it is expedient to amend th e Assam Ur ba n . . Imm ovable Pro per ty Ta x Act, 1963 herei nafte r called x ix " 1 of the prin cipal Act , in the manner here inafter 1963. ap pe ar in g:
It is hereby ena cted in the Sixteenth Year of the Re pu bl ic In di a as follows—
Short titl e, extent and commence ment.
Amendment of Section 4 of Assam Act XXX of 1963.
1. (I) This Act may be called the Assam Ur ba n Imm ova ble Pro per ty Ta x (Am endment) Act , 1965.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) It shall come into force on such da te as the Sta te Gov ernment may, by notifi cation in the official Gazet te, appo int .
2. In Section 4 of the principal Act—
(a) clause (a) shal l be deleted and the existing clauses (b), (c), ( d), (e) an d (f) shall be renumbered as (a) , (b), (c), (d) and (e) respective ly ;
(b) afte r item bered,
as item
(ii) of clause (a) as so the following shall be (Hi) ■ -
ren um - inserted
“ (iii) the St ate or the Central Gover n ment ;
