THE BIHAR CONTINGENCY FUND (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2010
AN
ACT
TO AMEND THE BIHAR CONTINGENCY FUND ACT, 1950 (BIHAR ACT 19 OF 1950)
WHEREAS, the State is likely to be in grip of irregular monsoon and will affect agriculture activities adversely due to fall in ground water level and scarcity of drinking water is likely and there is every possibility of flood in some areas of the State. AND, WHEREAS, relief and rehabilitation measures have to be undertaken on an emergent scale;
NOW, THEREFORE, be it enacted by the legislature of the State of Bihar in the sixty one year of the Republic of India as follows:—

1. Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may by called the Bihar Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act, 2010
(2) It shall come into force from 1st April 2010.
2. Amendment of section-4 of Bihar Act 19 of 1950.—For the proviso to section-4 of the Bihar Contingency Fund Act, 1950 (Bihar Act 19 of 1950) shall be substituted as follows :-
"Provided that during the period beginning on the date of commencement of the Bihar Contingency Fund (Amendment) Act,- 2010 and ending on 30th day of March 2011 this section shall have effect subject to the modification that for the words 'three hundred and fifty crores' shall be substituted by the words 'One thousand five hundred crores'.
