amend the Assam Tribal Development of 1983
Author ity Act. 1983 here inafter refer red to as the principal Act, in the manner here inafter appearing;
It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-s ixth Year o f the Republic of India as follows
Short title extent and commencement
1 (l )T hi s Act may be called the Assam Tribal Development Authority (Amendment) Act, 2005.
{2 )I t shall have the like extent as the princ ipal Act. (3 )I t shall come in to fo rce a t once.
Amendment of the preamble
2 In the principal Act, in the Preamble, in between the words "Plains Tribal Areas" and "o f the state", the words
"out side the Bodoland Teritorial Area Distric t and othe r Autonomous Council Areas" shall be inserted.
Amendment of section 4
3 In the principal Act, in section 4 , -
(i) fo r the existing clause (d) , the following shall be substituted, nam ely: -
'( d ) 2 (Two) President o f Z illa Parishad elected against the reserved seat for Triba l; 2 (Two) Social Worker of the Tribal community to be nominated by the Government out of which one should be woman."
