An Act further to amend the Tamil Nadu ??? and Animal Sciences University Act, 1989
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Forty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
* Received the assent of the Governor on the 22nd December, 1997 and published in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, Extraordinary, No. 631, dated December 23, 1997.
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (Amendment) Act, 1997.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification, appoint.
2. Amendment of section 18.- In section 18 of the Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University Act, 1989 (Tamil Nadu Act 42 of 1989), in sub-section (2), under the heading "Class II-Other Members", for clause (h), the following clauses shall be substituted, namely:-
"(h) one member elected by the members of the Tamil Nadu Legislative assembly from among themselves:
Provided that no member so elected shall be disqualified for being a member of the Legislative Assembly; and
(i) Two members representing agriculture and conversant with agricultural ??? nominated by the Government.".
