Municipal Corporation Acts (Amendment) Act, 1989*

An Act further to amend the Hyderabad Municipal Corporations Act, 1955, the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Act, 1979 and the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Act, 1981.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Fortieth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1. Amendment of Act 11 of 1956.- This Act may be called the Municipal Corporation Acts (Amendment) Act, 1989.
2.- In the Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Act, 1955,-
(1) in section 147, in sub-section (1), for the expression "as if such property were land needed for a public purpose within the meaning of the Hyderabad Land Acquisition Act, 1309 Fasli", the expression in accordance with the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act 1 of 1894) amended from time to time as if such property were land needed for a public purpose within the meaning of the provisions of the said Act shall be substituted.
(2) in section 387, in sub-section (1), for the words "Compensation shall be paid by me Commissioner", the expression "Compensation in accordance Central Act with the provisions of the Land Acquisition Act, 1894 (Central Act 1 of 1894) as amended from time to tune, shall be paid by the Commissioner" shall be substituted.
3. Amendment of section 7.- In the Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation Amendment Act, 1979, (Act 19 of 1979) in section 7, in sub-section (1), the expression "except Chapter V, sections 380, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385, and ??? in Chapter-XI and Chapter-XIII thereof" shall be omitted.
4. Amendment of section 7.- In the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation Act, 1981, in section 7, in subjection (1), the expression "except Chapter-V, sections 380, 381, 382, 383, 384, 385 and 387 in Chapter-XI and Chapter-XIII thereof" shall be omitted.
