THE MANIPUR PANCHAYATI RAJ (FIFTH AMENDMENT) ACT, 2008 (Manipur Act No. 5 of 2008)
An Act
fizrther to amend the ManipurPanchayati Raj Act, 1994 (Act No.26 of 1994). Be it enacted by_the Legislature of Manipur in the Fifty ninth Year of
Republic ofIndia as follows: , 1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Manipur Panchayati Raj (Fifih Amendment) Act, 2008.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint.
2. Amendment of section 57. - In section 57 of the Manipur Panchéyati Raj
Act, 1994-
(a) after the last sentence of sub-section (4), the following sentence
shall be added, namely,- “In the first year ofhis term as iAdhyaksha or Up-Adhyaksha, as the case may 'be, of Zilla Parishad, no motion of no-confidence shall be brought against him”;
(b) in sub—section (5), for the words, “six months”, the words “one year” shall be substituted. _ C I - ,
