Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 1992*

An Act further to amend the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1968 (Act No. 19 of 1970).
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Himachal Pradesh in the Forty-third Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Passed in Hindi by the Himachal Pradesh Vidhan Sabha. For Statement of Objects and Reasons see R.H.P. Extra., dated 29-2-1992, p. 1479 and 1481.

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Amendment) Act, 1992.
(2) It shall be deemed to have been come into force on the 7th day of December, 1991.
2. Amendment of section 63.- In section 63 of the Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj Act, 1968 (19 of 1970), for the words "from amongst themselves" occurring in sub-clause (i) of clause (a) of sub-section (1), the words, sign and figure "out of the persons, who are not disqualified to be a primary member under section 64 of the Act and are members of any Gram Sabha within a Panchayat Samiti" shall be substituted.
3. Repeal and savings.- (1) The Himachal Pradesh Panchayati Raj (Second Amendment) Ordinance, 1991 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the said Ordinance shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act, as this Act had come into force on the 7th day of December, 1991.
