Haryana Municipal (Amendment) Act, 2005*

An Act further to amend the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Haryana in the Fifty-sixth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Haryana Municipal (Amendment) Act, 2005.
2. Amendment of section 9 of Haryana Act 24 of 1973.- In sub-section (3) of section 9 of the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 (hereinafter called the principal Act),-
(a) the following clause shall be added, namely:-
"(i) not more than three persons in case of Municipal Council and not more, than two persons in case of Municipal Committee having special knowledge or experience in municipal administration;";
(b) for the first proviso, the following proviso shall be substituted, namely:-
"Provided that the persons referred to in clause (i) above shall not have right to vote in the meetings of the municipalities and the persons referred to in clauses (ii) and (iii) shall not have any right to contest for the election of president or service president;"
3. Amendment of section 214 of Haryana Act 24 of 1973.- In section 214 of the principal Act, for the words and signs "twenty five rupees, and more than two hundred rupees, and when the breach is a ??? with a further fine of ten rupees", the words and signs "three hundred rupees, and more than ??? breach is a continuing breach, with a further fine of one hundred rupees" shall be substituted.
