Gujarat Panchayats (Amendment) Act, 1990*

An Act further to amend the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1961.
It is hereby enacted in the Forty-first Year of the Republic of India as follows:-
* (Received the assent of the Governor on 28th June, 1990 and published in the "Gujarat Government Gazette" on the 29th June, 1990)
1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Gujarat Panchayats (Amendment) Act, 1990.
2. Amendment of section 210 of Guj. VI of 1962.- In the Gujarat Panchayats Act, 1961, in section 210, after sub-section (3A), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-
"(3B) Notwithstanding anything contained in any judgement, decree or order of any court, a member who has held office as such for an aggregate period of twelve years or more from the date he first entered upon his office at any time before the commencement of the Gujarat Panchayats (Amendment) Act, 1990 (Guj. 6 of 1990) shall, on such commencement, cease to hold such office.".
