Gujarat Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1964*

An Act to amend the Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act, 1961.
It is hereby enacted in the Fifteenth Year of the Republic of India, as follows:-
* (Received the assent of the Governor on 31st October, 1964 and published in the "Gujarat Government Gazette" on the 3rd November 1964)
1. Short title.- This Act may be called the Gujarat Co-operative Societies (Second Amendment) Act, 1964.
2. Amendment of section 150 of Guj. X of 1962.- In section 150. Of the Gujarat Co-operative Societies Act, 1961, (150 of Guj. X of 1962) after sub-section (2), the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely:-
"(2A) The State Government may terminate the appointment of any member of the Tribunal before the expiry of the term of his office if such member-
(a) is adjudged an insolvent, or
(b) engages during his term of office in any paid employment outside the duties of his office unless such employment is authorised by the Slats Government, or
(c) is or becomes in any way concerned or interested in any contract or agreement made by or on behalf of the State Government or participates in any way in the profit thereof or in any benefit or emoluments arising therefrom otherwise than as a member, or
(d) is in the opinion of the State Government, unfit continue in officer by reason of infirmity of mind or body, or
(e) is convicted of an offence involving moral turpitude".
