An Act further to amend the Chhattisgarh Adhyaksha Tatha Upadhyaksha (Vetan Tatha Bhatta) Adhiniyam, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972).
Be it enacted by the Chhattisgarh Legislature in the Fifty-third Year of the Republic; of India as follows:-
1. Short title and commencement.-
(i) This Act may be called the Chhattisgarh Adhyaksha Tatha Upadhyaksha (Vetan Tatha Bhatta) (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 2002 (No. 18 of 2002).
(ii) It shall come into force from the date of its publication in the Gazelle,
2. Amendment of Section.- In Section 4 of the Chhattisgarh Adhyaksha Tatha Upadhyaksha (Vetan Tatha Bhatta) (Sanshodan) Adhiniyam, 1972 (No. 27 of 1972) (hereinafter referred to a Principal Act):-
(1) In sub-section (1) of Section 4, after words "of a furnished", the words "office cum" shall be substituted.
(2) Explanation after sub-section (1) of Section 4 shall be omitted.
(3) Sub-Section (4) if Section 4 of the Principal Act shall be omitted.
(4) In sub-section (5) of Section 4 of the Principal Act after the words "repairs and maintenance" the words "and furnishing" shall be added.
(5) After sub-section (5) of the Principal Act, the following explanation shall be inserted, namely.
Explanation:- For the purposes of this Sett ion "residence" includes the staff quarters and other building appurtenant thereto and the garden thereof and "maintenance" in relation to a residence includes the payment of local rates and taxes and the provision of electricity and water.
