The Bihar Special Survey and Settlement (Amendment) Act, 2012
AN
ACT
TO AMEND THE BIHAR SPECIAL SURVEY AND SETTLEMENT ACT, 2011 (BIHAR ACT 24, 2011).
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Bihar in the sixty-third year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1. Short title, extent and commencement . &(1) This Act may be called The Bihar Special Survey and Settlement (Amendment) Act, 2012.
(2) It shall extend to the whole of the State of Bihar.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment in Section-2 . & In Section-2 after Sub-Section (xxv), a following new Sub-Section (xxvi) shall be added:-
"(xxvi) "Settlement Officer" means the Settlement Officer of the district or any other Officer authorized by the Government to discharge the functions of the Settlement Officer of a district."
3. Amendment in Section-11 . & In the Second line of Sub-Section (1) of Section-11, after the words " under the hand and Seal of the" and before the words "of the district"
the word "Collector" shall be substituted by the words "Settlement Officer".
4. Amendment in Section-15 . & In the second line of Sub-Section-(3) of Section -15, after the word "Collectors" and before the words "for use" the words "and Settlement Officers" shall be inserted.
5. Amendment in Section-16 . & In the second line of Sub-Section (ix) of Section- 16, after the words "Collector of any District" and sign of full stop " . " the words "/
Settlement Officer of any District" shall be inserted.
6. Amendment in Section-17 . & In the first line of section-17, after the word "Collector"
and before the words "or any other" the words "or the Settlement Officer" shall be inserted.
7. Amendment in Section-19 . & In the third line of section-19, after the word "Collector of the District" and before the words "to this effect" the words "or the Settlement Officer" shall be inserted.
