Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) (Amendment) Act, 20041

An Act further to amend the Arunachal Pradesh (Reorganisation of Districts) Act, 1980 (Act No. 3 of 1980).
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of Arunachal Pradesh in the Fifty-fifth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
1 Received the assent of the Governor on 19-03-2004.
1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) (Amendment) Act, 2004.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on 4th December, 2003.
2. Amendment of Section 6.- (1) In sub-section (2) of Section 6 of the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) Act, 1980 (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), for the words and figure "sub-section (1) above" the words and figures, "sub-sections (1) (2A) and (3) of this Section" shall be substituted.
(2) After sub-section (2) of Section 6 of the Principal Act, the following sub-section shall be inserted namely:-
"(2A) On and from the appointed day, the Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) (Amendment) Act, 2004 comes into force, so much of the areas comprising the following administrative units under the Lohit District namely:-
(i) Hayuliang
(ii) Hawai
(iii) Manchal
(iv) Goiliang
(v) Chaglagam
(vi) Walong
(vii) Kibithoo
shall be constituted as a separate administrative unit and be known by the name of ANJAW DISTRICT."
3. Repeal and savings.- (1) The Arunachal Pradesh (Re-Organisation of Districts) (Amendment) Ordinance, 2003 is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Principal Act, as amended by the said Ordinance, shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the Principal Act, as amended by this Act.
