Andhra Pradesh College Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 1995*

An Act further to amend the Andhra Pradesh College Service Commission Act, 1985.
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Forty-sixth Year of the Republic of Indians follows:

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh College Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 1995.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force with effect on and from the 8th September, 1994.
2. Amendment of section 1.- In the Andhra Pradesh College Service Commission Act, 1985 (Act 13 of 1985) (here in after reared to as the principal Act in section 1, in sub-section (2), in clause (b) after the words Government Colleges "the words including Government Polytechnics" shall be inserted.
3. Amendment of section 2.- In section 2 of the principal Act, in clause (b) for the words includes a Junior College", the words includes a Government Polytechnic and a Junior College" shall be substituted.
4. Amendment of section 10.- In section 10 of the principal Act, to sub-section (1), the following proviso shall be added, namely:-
"Provided that the selection to the posts of teachers/faculty positions in Government Polytechnics shall be made in accordance with the norms and standards laid down by the All India Council of Technical Education".
5. Saving.- Notwithstanding anything contained in the principal Act, as amended by the Andhra Pradesh College Service Commission (Amendment) Act, 1995, it shall be competent for the Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission to continue the process of selection of teachers to Government Polytechnics and complete the same in respect of the vacancies already notified for recruitment prior to the commencement of this Act.
6. Repeal of Ordinance 16 of 1994.- The Andhra Pradesh College Service Commission (Amendment) Ordinance, 1994 is hereby repealed.
